With only 12 days left for Sacred Games season 2, Netflix has released a recap video for season 1. The four-minute-long video stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in his Ganesh Gaitonde avatar, narrating important events from the previous season.
In an attempt to jog everyone’s memory, Gaitonde goes over every critical detail in a concise manner. He mentions that it all started with a phone call and how his and Inspector Sartaj Singh’s (Saif Ali Khan) life unfolded together to a point where they both had nothing except death and betrayal around them.
He reminds viewers about Kukoo (Kubbra Sait) and her magic, Bunty (Jatin Sarna) and his evil antics and Isa (Saurabh Sachdeva) who had a fierce rivalry with Gaitonde in season 1. Furthermore, he explains how he overcame everything on his way to becoming a God.
It is evident that the new season picks up exactly from where season 1 ended. In a brief surprise, as Gaitonde mentions his third father, Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) also makes an appearance in the video. However, instead of talking about the past, Guruji warns the viewers that the ‘Game’ is far from over.
Tripathi’s character has been confirmed as the main antagonist in the new season with some new actors having been added to the fold. Ranvir Shorey, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin and Harshita Gaur among others are the newcomers to the show.
Sacred Games 2 will see the return of Anurag Kashyap and another new addition Neeraj Ghaywan as directors. Varun Grover will still be lead writer along with Vikramaditya Motwani reprising his role of Showrunner.
