Teaser out for Amazon Prime Video original The Boys season 2

Ever since Prime Video released the first season of The Boys earlier this year, the audience and critics alike were already awaiting the next season. The show was renewed even before it premiered and received rave reviews.

Now, creators Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg and, Seth Rogen have started the hype train with a freshly released teaser. Not revealing absolutely anything about the story, the teaser shows glimpses of the gore, violence and familiar characters.

The new season picks up exactly from where season 1 ended with Spoiler Alert Butcher discovering that his wife is alive with a son fathered by Homelander.

We will also get to see Butcher’s dog, Terror, in season 2. If the comics are anything to go by, it is well known that he can go to extreme violent lengths to protect his furry friend.

Last month Karl Urban who plays Billy Butcher updated the audience on the wrap of season 2 with an Instagram post. Subsequently, Prime Video also released a small clip of Homelander’s (played by Antony Starr) childhood:

Urban also hinted at the release date of season 2 in his post to be around mid 2020. Considering the first season premiered in July this year, the second coming can be expected around the same time.

Like its predecessor, the new season will also have 8 episodes and some new characters. However, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Tomer Kapon, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Jessie T Usher, and Dominique McElligott will also be returning.

The Boys has turned the superhero genre on its head and is a breath of fresh air in terms of content. Hopefully, season 2 will live up to the expectations as well.
