One night can change the world. Amazon Prime Video’s latest offering charts the course of a special night, gathering some of the greatest minds in American history sitting on the cusp of a cultural revolution.

The streaming giant has released the trailer for “One Night In Miami“, revealing the streaming date to be January 15, 2021. The fictionalized drama has already created a major Oscar buzz.

Helmed by the Oscar/Emmy/Golden Globe winner Regina King, the film hosts a celebrated cast including Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge, and Leslie Odom Jr. This will mark King’s feature film directorial debut.

Per the official description: “One Night in Miami is a fictional account of one incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered discussing their roles in the civil rights movement and cultural upheaval of the 60s.”

Inspired by true events the film is based on Kemp Powers’ 2013 play of the same name. It tells the fictional story of a meeting between Muhammed Ali (then still known as Cassius Clay), Jim Brown, Sam Cooke, and Malcolm X, as they get together following Ali’s 1964 fight against Sonny Liston.

The film is slated to hit the theatres this Christmas.
