‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’ to premiere on August 23

Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming anime film ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’. The film is set to premiere on the streamer on August 23.

Vesemir, Geralt’s tutor and adopted father, is introduced in the anime film. Rather than following Geralt’s exploits, Nightmare of the Wolf will centre on Vesemir, his tutor and fellow School of the Wolf disciple.

Theo James, well known for his main role in the Divergent series, voices protagonist Vesemir, years before the Witcher became Geralt of Rivia’s tutor.

While Vesemir is a grey-haired veteran by Geralt’s time, he is a youthful swashbuckler who makes his money by fighting monsters in this film. However, he is forced to confront his history as well as a monster preying on a country already beset by political strife.

Vesemir meets a sorceress named Tetra on his quest, who is shown throughout the trailer.

If Tetra’s voice seems familiar, it’s because she’s played by Lara Pulver from Dota: Dragon’s Blood. Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst, a Kaedweni noblewoman, and Graham McTavish as Deglan, a Witcher from the Skellige Isles, round out the major cast.
