Kanan Gill, the much loved comedian who came into the limelight with Pretentious Movie Reviews on YouTube is set to hit Netflix screens with a new stand-up special this month. It is titled, ‘Yours Sincerely, Kanan Gill’ and will premier on 24 April.
Netflix announced the release date through their monthly content slate which also has Chris Hemsworth’s action flick Extraction releasing on the same day. The recently released trailer shows Gill hilariously talking about letters he wrote to his future self when he was 15.
Talking about this brand new special he said:
This show is about rediscovering the goals I’d set for myself when I was younger and seeing how my life has measured up. It’s about how I thought my life would be, how it turned out to be and how I feel about it. The process of writing is spending long periods of time with nothing but ideas. Each line has been agonised over and told to thousands of people around the world before being recorded.
This is the second stand-up special for Gill after his first one titled, Kanan Gill: Keep It Real which was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2017. He was also a judge on both seasons of Prime Video’s competitive comedy show, Comicstaan.
This special is a part of Netflix’s comedy specials deal which was announced previously. The list included seven other well known Indian comics like Vir Das, Kenny Sebastian, Kaneez Surka, Amit Tandon, Prashasti Singh, Niveditha Prakasam and Supriya Joshi.
Gill’s will be the fourth special after Vir Das: For India, Amit Tandon Family Tandoncies and Ladies Up with the four female comics.
