Hum Tum and Them: An emotion-heavy family drama

ALTBalaji and Zee5 have come together once again for a brand-new web series Hum Tum and Them: Bacchchon Ke Side Effects! The show stars daily soap legend, Shweta Tiwari making her digital debut alongside Akshay Oberoi.

The trailer released on ALTBalaji’s YouTube channel depicts two individuals (Tiwari and Oberoi) who get a second chance at love but carry a lot of baggage with them. This comes in the form of their respective children from previous hurtful relationships who struggle to accept this change.

Full of emotional highs and lows, it shows the difficulty which comes along with developing new bonds and breaking old ones. Eventually, it is all about family and what a parent is willing to do for them.

The official description reads: “Hum Tum And Them orbits around the theme — Every relationship is a commitment… where giving up is always an option… but making it work is a choice!”

“Having worked with Balaji before, it feels great to be making my digital debut with them. It’s like coming back to school after a long vacation. The first thing that caught my interest was the script,” said Tiwari at the trailer launch.

“I’ve played the role of a mother before, but this is something that I’ve never done before. The sheer novelty of the show despite it being a family drama is what made me want to be a part of Hum Tum and Them. I hope this freshness appeals to the audience as well and the show goes on to be a huge success.” she added.

Akshay Oberoi said: “While every actor or actress in their career may get to play the role of a father or mother, not many would get the chance to portray this character with so many layers.

“It was super exciting to play the character of Yudi and Knowing that this would improve my acting skills by leaps and bounds, there was no way I wasn’t going to be part of this show. I had a blast working with the entire team and I am sure the audience will take a liking to the show as well.”

The show also stars Bhavin Bhanushali, Aashika Bhatia, Gautam Ahuja, Trupti Khamkar. It is set to start streaming on 4 December 2019.
