Hend Sabry to star in upcoming Netflix series

Netflix has announced a deal with Arab super-star Hend Sabry for an upcoming untitled “heartwarming drama-comedy” series.

The web series will be produced by Sabry’s very own production company SALAM Production. This deal will also be Sabry’s first time as an executive producer.

The streaming giant also confirmed that the show’s production is expected to begin in Egypt in fall 2020.

As per Ahmed Sharkawi, Director of Arabic Original Series at Netflix, the untitled web series will be a “female-focused story” that will connect with the fans’ hearts.

Talking about the new project, Sabry stated:

I am excited to work on a female-focused show, with Netflix, I am also thrilled about my first experience as an executive producer and how with Netflix we can create content that features stories from the Arab world and to be seen by the world

This series marks the second collaboration between Sabry and Netflix.

She had also collaborated with the streaming giant for the Because She Watched campaign to curate an inspirational film collection on the service.

Netflix MENA (Middle East and Africa) took to Instagram to welcome the actress and make the announcement:
