Ginny & Georgia on Netflix: Exploring mother-daughter dynamics

Netflix recently dropped the trailer for a new original series, ‘Ginny & Georgia’ which will be arriving on the platform on February 24. Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey will be seen playing the mother-daughter duo.

The new dramedy Netflix original revolves around its lead Ginny Miller, the fifteen-year-old daughter of glamourous, Georgia Miller. The girls move to picturesque New England town and are ready to put their past behind and enjoy what’s coming their way.

The role-reversal equation between them and their funny banters are not the only things the series promises to offer. Few traits of the lead characters resemble those of the long running WB hit ‘Gilmore Girls’.

The official synopsis of the series says:

“Angsty and awkward Ginny Miller often feels she doesn’t measure up to her mother, the irresistible and dynamic Georgia Miller. Growing up on the move, Georgia desperately wants to put down roots in picturesque New England and give her family something they’ve never had…a normal life. But it’s not all carpool and Kombucha as Georgia’s past follows them to threaten her and her family’s fresh start.”

The web series is executively produced by Debra J. Fisher, Anya Adams, and Jenny Daly and is written by Debra J. Fisher.

Debra J. Fisher speaking about the project, said:

“We wanted Ginny & Georgia to be a fun, feel-good ride about women, by women, for everyone; one that depicted a nuanced and complicated mother-daughter relationship, and layered female friendships in a way that isn’t always seen in shows.”
