Documentary film ‘underrated’ announced by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has announced ‘Underrated’, a documentary film that traces the rise of professional basketball player Stephen Curry.

The official synopsis reads:

“Underrated features the breakout story of NBA superstar Stephen Curry and his historic success during the 2008 March Madness NCAA Tournament, as well as his record-shattering and game-changing playing style that turned him from an overlooked prospect to an NBA legend. The film culminates in his incredible 2022 run to a fourth NBA title and his first NBA Finals Most Valuable Player trophy.”

Peter Nicks is the director of the film, while the producers include Nicks and Ryan Coogler from Proximity Media, alongside Apple’s A24.

The project is part of a first-look deal between A24 and Unanimous. A24 is credited with several well-received documentaries, including ‘Val’, ‘Amy’ and ‘Home’.
