Cobra Kai season 5 release date announced by Netflix

Netflix has announced the release date for the much-awaited fifth season of Cobra Kai. The series is a follow up to the Karate Kid franchise of the 80s.

Season 5 of the martial arts comedy-drama series will release on Netflix on September 9, 2022. Filming for the fifth season began in September 2021 and finished in December 2021.

The latest season will see Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) expand the Cobra Kai brand across the valley with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) trying to take him down with the help of his old friend and former rival, Chozen (Yuji Okumoto).

Meanwhile, Johnny (William Zabka) is headed to Mexico along with Robby (Tanner Buchanan) to find Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) who is out searching for his father. Johnny appears to run into a lot of trouble down there and also struggles to keep Robby and Miguel on the same page once he finds him.

The cast of Cobra Kai also includes Courtney Henggeler, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Martin Kove, Peyton List and Vanessa Rubio among others.

Cobra Kai was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg who were recently announced to be working with Netflix on an action-comedy series titled ‘Obliterated’.
