Cobra Kai makers working on new Netflix series ‘Obliterated’

Netflix have announced that the creators of the Emmy-nominated show Cobra Kai, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, will be Executive Producers and Showrunners for new Netflix series ‘Obliterated’.

The three are undertaking production via their Counterbalance Entertainment production banner.

The official synopsis reads: “Obliterated is a high octane action-comedy that tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake.

“The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world.”

Sony Pictures Television is the studio associated with the series, which consists of eight 45-minute episodes. Hurwitz, Schlosser and Heald will each direct different episodes.

The casting is underway and the production is expected to begin in the summer of this year.

Cobra Kai season 4 was released at the end of last year and received generally positive reviews.
