Army of the Dead on Netflix: Zack Snyder’s zombie gore fest

Netflix has revealed the trailer for Zack Snyder’s much awaited Zombie heist flick, ‘Army of the Dead’. The film is all set to bite your screens from May 21.

The plot revolves around a group of hardcore mercenaries, who attempt a lethal casino heist, within a heavily zombie infested area in Las Vegas.

The film was greenlight in 2007 and was touted to be a Universal and Warner Bros. joint production venture. However, after 12 years of developmental hell, Netflix acquired the rights to the project in 2019 and brought on Snyder to direct.

This isn’t the director’s first zombie themed project as he helmed the 2004 film, ‘Dawn of the Dead’ as well.

Netflix also put out some official stills from the movie:

‘Army of the Dead’ stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Raúl Castillo, Michael Cassidy, Garret Dillahunt, Huma Qureshi, and Omari Hardwick, among others.

Netflix has already announced an expanding universe based on the film with a prequel and an anime series already in the works.
