The nation’s first female ruler, Njinga earned a reputation for her blend of political and diplomatic skill with military prowess and became an icon of resistance.”

Jada Pinkett Smith is most often recognized in the entertainment industry as an actor and Will Smith’s wife, but she has also been a lead singer for a rock metal band, author of a book for children, producer of the hit TV show Hawthorne, and launcher of humanitarian initiatives.
She has also been publicly and strongly advocating for black representation, which African Queens is partially about.
