At night, they are forced to lock themselves in their respective houses as nocturnal creatures from the nearby forest come to hunt them down. ‘From’ is more inclined toward the horror elements but serves the right amount of mysteries, just like ‘The Rig’.

The flight members find themselves working together to survive as they discover polar bears, a black smoke monster, a mysterious hatch, a Frenchwoman stranded on this island for the past 16 years, and the island’s malevolent inhabitants known as “The Others”.

‘1899’ follows the passengers of a migrant steamship that is on its way to New York City, US.

The hopeful dreams of the European emigrants to start a new life in the big city are put on hold when they come across a lost ship named Prometheus, which disappeared months ago on the same route.

‘1899’ carries an atmosphere much similar to ‘The Rig’, but the show is a bit darker.

6. The Society

Students of a local high school head off for a camping trip, which gets canceled due to a storm.

The roads to the outside world get blocked as well by thick and dense forests. While some students enjoy their newly-granted freedom, others thrive to build a community in order to survive with the limited resources they have.

7. All Of Us Are Dead

The plot of ‘All Of Us Are Dead’ is more straightforward and easy than most of the shows on this list. It sees a local high school being overrun by zombies after a failed experiment.

The school becomes a battleground with the trapped students trying to survive with no food, water, or communication with the authorities. The show is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by Joo Dong-geun.

8. Snowpiercer

‘Snowpiercer’ takes place in a world that has become a frozen wasteland. Humans have found shelter on a moving luxury train built by billionaire Mr. Wilford. The train circles the globe 2.7 times per year.

The train’s movement prevents them from freezing. With the population being separated by class, the show questions class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival.

‘Snowpierecer’ is based on both the 2013 film of the same name and the 1982 French graphic novel ‘Le Transperceneige’ by Jacques Lob.

9. The 100

All on their own, some of the prisoners revolt against the authorities of the Ark, while others stay loyal and follow the rules, which soon leads them to discover the people who still inhabit the planet.
