Ending explained:

Gun-Woo’s murderers

Gwon Ji-Woong ran over Kang Gun-Woo with his car and remained remorseless as he was tried in court and given an offensively light sentence.

However, that’s just what Eun Soo-Hyun and others thought happened, which led to her taking his life in revenge.

The truth of Gun-Woo’s death entailed a different story altogether, which is revealed later on in Wonderful World

It was Kim Joon who hit Gun-Woo with his car, as he was driving carelessly and while under the influence as well. Instead of taking the poor boy to the hospital, he drove to a remote place.

He then called his trusted man Ji-Woong, and asked him to come over. At the same time, Ji-Woong was with his wife and son Gwon Seon-Yul, who was hospitalized and in dire need of a heart transplant.

Kim Joon opined that he must not let a “little bug” that he crushed stop him from reaching the Blue House, i.e., becoming the president. So he thought it better to quash the bug for good.

Ji-Woong struck a deal with Kim Joon according to which the politician would save his son’s life in exchange for Ji-Woong finishing the job, i.e., killing Gun-Woo for good and taking the blame upon himself.

Kim Joon, meanwhile, came out of the situation spotless and clean and went on to order a hit on Seon-Yul’s mother when he found out that she knew about

Justice for Gun-Woo

Gwon Seon-Yul’s mother found Gun-Woo’s tablet from her husband’s car. It was recording a video before he was hit by a car, and it kept running throughout the whole tragic ordeal, recording the evidence of Kim Joon’s culpability.

She left the tablet at a pawn shop and a clue to find it in the necklace that Seon-Yul kept with him after she went into a coma. Before her death, she woke up momentarily and mentioned the tablet again.

Eun Soo-Hyun tracked down the tablet, saw the evidence of her son’s chilling murder, and went to a police officer with it. When a complaint wouldn’t be registered again Kim Joon because he’s just about to become a president.

However, she uses her status as an author and reveals that she’d be writing a book about the truth of her son’s death and how Kim Joon caused it. Then the media picks it up, albeit still not as enthusiastically as it should.

However, the people do. Many people who have known Soo-Hyun and can attest to her character, support her. Other families of Kim Joon’s victims come forward too.

Meanwhile, Kang Su-Ho uses his platform and broadcasts the video evidence to the public. Before Wonderful World rolls the credits, Kim Joon is arrested and his campaign comes to a satisfying halt. Justice is soon served and Kim Joon is sentenced to life.

Soo-Hyun’s family and friends

Soo-Hyun’s mother is diagnosed with dementia just before her daughter begins her fight to get her son justice.

Soo-Hyun and Su-Ho’s marriage is over or not is not revealed by the show but she doesn’t feel as bitter about him as she did after finding out about his cheating with Han Yu-Ri.

Soo-Hyun and Yu-Ri’s relationship has also improved, and the two interact like before, as true sisters. Meanwhile, Su-Ho takes care of his mother-in-law with complete devotion.

Gwon Seon-Yul improves his life and feels better, becoming a doctor as he had dreamt of as well. Hong Su-Jin and Kang Tae-Ho get into a relationship, approved by his mother.

Eun Soo-Hyun adopts a lot of orphan kids and takes care of them like she used to with her own precious Gun-Woo. With that, Wonderful World concludes its runtime.
