Valéria: Luz: The Light of the Heart character explained

Valéria is employed by Carlos to find Luz but ultimately ends up helping Luz instead. In Luz: The Light of the Heart, Mel Lisboa plays Valéria.

When Carlos grows suspicious of Baltazar, he asks Valéria, a girl who grew up on his farm, to tail him and find out his secrets.

Valéria is loyal to Carlos because Carlos allowed her to stay on the farm rather than forcing her out after her mother’s death.

Now that she works for Carlos, she discovers that Baltazar never abandoned Carlos’ granddaughter, Luz, and from that point on, she assists Carlos in finding Luz.

Pleasing Carlos

Valéria is always eager to please Carlos because, as it turns out, she is his daughter from a brief affair Carlos had with her mother, which he now regrets.

Valéria constantly seeks his approval and intends to reveal her true identity to Carlos once she proves her worth by finding Luz.

Even though Carlos humiliates her and disregards her opinions, she stays loyal to him. She even starts spending time with the Kaingang community to keep an eye on them.

When Baltazar comes to inform Gá about Luz’s mother, she reports him to Carlos, who orders Valéria to kill him.

However, Baltazar, who knows Valéria’s secret, manages to escape. Valéria does not want to disappoint Carlos, so she lies to him about Baltazar’s death.

Valéria spends a lot of time around the community, and Gá tries to get her to work with her. Valéria considers her offer, unaware that Gá knows where Luz is hiding.

Baltazar also asks her to work with him, and Valéria cannot refuse, as Carlos must not find out that Baltazar is alive.

She informs Gá that Luz’s mother is alive, just as Baltazar had asked her. Despite that, she is never able to work with Gá due to a lack of trust.

Switching sides

To prove herself to Carlos, Valéria finds out where Luz has been hiding. However, Valéria now respects the community, so she comes to warn them before going to Carlos.

Valéria finally discloses to Carlos that she is his daughter, only to find out that he already knew. Carlos has no intention of accepting her as his daughter, which breaks Valéria’s heart.

He thinks of her as an employee and nothing more. He even accuses Valéria, as well as her deceased mother, of being after his wealth.

Valéria loses all hope of being loved by her father when Carlos expresses regret for not abandoning her like Luz.

However, Baltazar comes to her rescue; he does not let Carlos hurt her. Valéria, who has always been loyal and obedient to Carlos, then decides to defy him.

She leaves him to live with the Kaingang and protect Luz from Carlos. She is now certain that she is on the good side.
