Tytus Broz, played by Anthony LaPaglia, is considered Brisbane’s greatest philanthropist, as his dark secrets are hidden from the general public.
Tytus Broz owns Atlas Prosthetics, the company where Lyle works. Broz employs ex-convicts, criminals, and ex-addicts, offering them a chance to earn a decent living.
Broz’s daughter, Hannah, was born with a condition that rendered her immobile. Hannah passed away, but Broz’s love for his daughter gave him a purpose in life.
He is funding research with the hope of providing full mobility to individuals who have faced challenges similar to his daughter’s condition.
He wishes to make fully-functioning prosthetics that easily replace a person’s limbs. However, Broz’s dream leads him down a dark path.
Broz’s illegal activities
When Caitlyn goes to meet Bich Dang in a nursing home, Bich Dang tells her that her life is in danger. A few days later, Kroll kills her.
After her death, her lawyer sends Caitlyn information about cash movements from a bank account secretly owned by Broz.
The fact that Broz was in business with Bich Dang makes Eli think that he was involved in her drug distribution system. He starts suspecting that Broz is not the man everyone believes him to be.
Eli thinks that Broz had Bich Dang recruit individuals from his prosthetics factory to deal drugs for her and that Lyle may have been one of his victims.
He starts believing that the drug business got Broz rich in the first place. Following that, Caitlyn finds evidence that Broz pays Ivan Kroll, Bich Dang’s network’s enforcer.
Caitlyn and Eli need more evidence to accuse a philanthropist like Broz of getting his employees involved in drug dealing, as Broz is respected by all.
Broz’s secrets are exposed
Caitlyn and Eli meet Leary, who tells them about a facility that he built for Broz. He did not receive payment for his work, leading to his bankruptcy and his wife’s death.
At the same time, Broz comes to know that Caitlyn and Eli are looking into his matters. He calls Eli to his house to warn him off.
This gives Eli and Caitlyn a chance to sneak into Broz’s research facility, where they find human limbs. They discover that Broz has been conducting unethical human experiments.
Caitlyn then calls the police and reports the murders of Broz’s victims. She leads the police to his research facility, where there is ample evidence of his wrongdoings.
Broz had seen the two of them near his house. He does not hesitate to order Kroll to kill them. Fortunately, Eli and Caitlyn escape unharmed.
As Broz is a reputable man, he is chosen to present awards to Queensland Champions every year.
It is there that Eli exposes his crimes by showing the audience Lyle’s severed head, which he had found at the facility.
The police, after finding the facility, also arrive there at that very minute to arrest Broz, whose crimes finally come to light.
Broz’s ambition to create prosthetics that would be as good as human body parts led to the loss and ruin of several lives. Broz is punished for his crimes due to Eli and Caitlyn’s efforts.
