Tukta: Doctor Climax character explained

Nat’s wife, Tukta, keeps trying to make Nat happy until he cheats on her. In Doctor Climax, Chermawee Suwanpanuchoke plays Tukta.

Tukta is a woman who never got the chance to find out what she likes or wants to be. At the age of fourteen, her marriage was arranged with Nat.

Tukta never thought she even had a choice, so when the boy she liked, Tong, asked her to elope with him, she refused.

She ended up marrying Nat, who does not love or value her, despite Tukta’s best efforts to please him.

Tukta’s desperation

Tukta is beautiful and caring, but Nat does not see her as the perfect wife like everyone else does, and he is not ready to have children with her.

He gives her birth control pills disguised as vitamins, preventing Tukta from getting pregnant, which makes her feel like she is letting down Nat and his mother.

One day, Tukta finds a letter Nat received from a reader of his column. Unaware that Nat is Doctor Climax, Tukta assumes that the letter is written by him.

After reading the letter, she starts believing that Nat finds their sex life unexciting. She fears losing him because she has failed to satisfy him.

Tukta tries to change herself for Nat’s sake, but he either does not notice or does not appreciate her efforts, continuing to neglect her.

Feeling helpless and desperate, Tukta tries everything to make her marriage work, even writing to Doctor Climax.

Soon, her worst fear comes true: she learns Nat has been cheating on her with Linda, who is very different from Tukta.

This revelation leads Tukta to realize that neither Nat knows her nor does she know herself. She then starts making bold choices to discover her true self.

Tukta’s transformation

Tukta meets Tong, who is a lawyer now, at a school reunion and admits that she would have been happy if she had married him instead of Nat.

Tukta admits to Tong that she is not happy

Tong was poor, but he loved Tukta; he even named his daughters after her. However, he cannot leave his family now.

That night, Tukta goes out drinking alone for the first time and ends up sleeping with a stranger, which leads to an affair with him.

This experience allows Tukta to explore herself. She changes and becomes more confident, a stark contrast to her previous meek self.

Her life no longer revolves around Nat. She stops trying to please him or forgive him for cheating on her. Additionally, she stops taking the pills he had been giving her.

Tukta falls in love with the man she is having an affair with and realizes that she never truly loved Nat; she only believed she did.

Tukta now wants a divorce. She seeks legal advice from Tong, who advises against it, warning her that if Nat proves her infidelity, she could lose everything.

She then tries to reconcile with Nat when he apologizes, but it does not work out, as Nat struggles to accept the fact that Tukta has changed.

Soon after, Tukta finds out that she is pregnant, which upsets Nat. Ultimately, feeling trapped in an unhappy marriage, Tukta decides to have an abortion.
