The Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout (2024) explained

The Brotherhood of Steel is a military faction existing in the Wasteland whose main goal is to acquire pre-war technology.

The Brotherhood of Steel is based out of an airfield in the wasteland where they train their cadets in their ways.

Their goal is to acquire all kinds of pre-war technology and they refuse to share it with anyone else.

The Brotherhood operates through a hierarchy with Elder Clerics at the top, Knights, Squires, and finally Aspirants.

Knights are soldiers that don power armor and go out into the world to retrieve artifacts. Squires accompany the knights and are responsible for the safety and well-being of their knights.

Aspirants are the lowest rung of the Brotherhood and they are trained to become squires or knights depending on their capabilities.

They are led by Elder Cleric Quintus who decides the assignments.

Seeking power

The Brotherhood also receives a notification of the bounty on Wilzig and sends out their knights to find him.

They conduct a ritual to anoint Maxmius as a squire and he is branded by Knight Titus. They have access to a giant airship and several helicopters apart from the armor.

When he returns with the decoy head, Quintus sees through the facade and orders that he be killed, but Dane pleads for mercy.

Quintus has a private conversation with Maximus, speaking of a new Brotherhood that will be stronger than before by taking the power for themselves.

Maximus leads them to Moldover’s location, which is the base of the New California Republic, and a conflict breaks out.

The Brotherhood triumphs just as Moldover activates the cold fusion device, giving them access to unlimited energy.

Before dying, she asks Maximus what he thinks the Brotherhood of Steel might do with this much power.
