Fuhito Tamon: Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf character explained

In Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf, Fuhito Tamon is a police detective who has been chasing Juzo for years. Hidenobu Kiuchi voices Tamon.

Seven years ago, Juzo killed a robber who broke into Socihiro Izumi’s house and raped his daughter. Detective Fuhito Tamon was assigned to this case.

Juzo escaped immediately after committing the crime, so Tamon goes above and beyond to bring Juzo to justice for using excessive self-defense.

It is not a sense of duty that drives Tamon to chase Juzo to the ends of the Earth, but his own personal motives.

A tireless pursuit

Years ago, Tamon also practiced martial arts. He was so good at it that his colleagues believed he would represent their country at the Olympics someday.

One day, Juzo simply walked in and challenged Tamon to a fight. It did not take Juzo long to defeat Tamon with his Tiger King.

While Tamon was shocked by his loss, Juzo was unaffected by his victory, as if defeating Tamon did not mean much to him.

Tamon has still not forgotten that match. He has been chasing Juzo all this time not because Juzo killed a man, but because he wants a rematch.

He wants to fight Juzo again, and his desire to find him teeters on obsession. He keeps tracking Juzo, no matter where he hides.

When others question his obsession with Juzo, he claims to know Juzo’s true nature. He tells his partner, Hikita, that he believes Juzo will kill again.

He is well aware that Juzo’s parents were killed by a home invader when he was young, but he refuses to see that as an excuse to justify Juzo’s actions.

Over the years, Tamon has come to know Juzo well, yet he fails to catch him, as Juzo is always out of his reach.

Tamon and his partner leave no stone unturned to keep tabs on Juzo, going as far as to risk their jobs, which is how they find out about Juzo participating in KODOKU.

Tamon’s relentless pursuit of Juzo gets the attention of the Ministry of Justice PSIA and the FBI, who are conducting a joint operation to end KODOKU.

However, even with their help, Tamon fails to catch Juzo. He then starts meeting Juzo’s acquaintances in the hopes of finding him.

Tamon’s efforts finally bear fruit. His understanding of Juzo leads him to Bunshichi Tanba, as he is certain that Juzo will approach him to fight.

Tamon gets to fight Juzo again

As he had expected, he finds Juzo there. Tamon knows that Juzo has unfinished business, so he promises to let Juzo go if Juzo manages to defeat him.

Tamon believes that Juzo will not be able to defeat him as easily as he did last time, but Juzo proves him wrong. Tamon once again loses to Juzo’s Tiger King.

This leads to Juzo escaping again. Tamon, after having the rematch he wanted, stops chasing Juzo.

However, Juzo’s participation in the Hokushinkan Tournament alerts the police to his location and leads to his arrest.
