Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver sheds light on the truth about the assassination of the royal family of the Motherworld as well as the fate of Princess Issa.
While sharing an intimate moment with Gunnar, Kora shares how she became the most wanted criminal in the known universe.
Kora certainly didn’t earn that title by simply running away. Kora, once a decorated warrior, committed a treacherous crime, and it involved Princess Issa, whom Kora served as her protector.
Kora’s hand in Princess Issa’s death
Before the assassination of the royal family and Princess Issa, under the influence of his daughter, the king started seeing things differently.
The king decided to put an end to the age of expansion—a decision that didn’t sit well with Balisarius, who believed the princess must die.
As her adoptive father’s loyal daughter, Kora could not betray or defy him. She followed her father’s orders obediently and took part in the assassination of the royal family.
Kora had faith that Balisarius would protect her and the empire after this assassination. As planned, they kill the royal family on the day of Princess Issa’s coronation. Kora is the one who shoots Princess Issa down with a heavy heart.
In her final moments, Issa forgives Kora for this move. Following the deaths, Balisarius quickly frames Kora for the assassination, resulting in Kora fighting back, defecting from the Motherworld’s army, and running away.
Is Princess Issa alive?
Kora keeps her part in the assassination of the royal family of the Motherworld a secret from everyone for a long time.
At the end of Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, while the rebels are honoring their fallen soldiers, Kora confesses the truth, asking everyone not to speak of her when they speak of honor and bravery.
It is then that General Titus reveals that Kora is not Princess Issa’s assassin. The princess is still alive.
It is hinted that Princess Issa harbors magical powers. General Titus says that she is more than death, and it is not that easy to kill her.
General Titus tells Kora that she now has a reason to continue. She can find Issa and keep fighting. The rebels vow to stand with Kora as she looks forward to finding Issa.
