Marry My Husband‘s penultimate episode sees Park Min-Hwan’s relentless plans to get rid of his issues hit a violent peak as a surprising twist sees fate turn on him and bring his life to a close.
In 2023, Park Min-Hwan had been cheating on his terminally ill wife Kang Ji-Won, with her lifelong best friend Jeong Su-Min.
When Ji-Won catches them red-handed and confronts them, Min-Hwan pushes her away violently and she falls head-first on a glass table, dying on the spot.
She travels back in time, to 2013.
She begins working to get her revenge on Min-Hwan and her lifelong backstabber Su-Min, who had stolen anything that brought happiness.
She is helped by her company’s higher-up, Yu Ji-Hyuk, who had secretly loved her in the past life, and shortly after her death, he dies too and travels back to the same point in time.
Kang Ji-Won soon figures out that to not repeat the same fate, she has to transfer her fate to Su-Min.
Setting up the fated incident
This endeavor ends with Ji-Won and Ji-Hyuk setting up a similar scenario as the one where Ji-Won met her end.
She gets Su-Min and Min-Hwan to have an affair before eventually marrying each other.
Ji-Won realizes she must fake having an affair with Park Min-Hwan so that Su-Min becomes the wife getting cheated on like she was.
So she does exactly that. However, she and Ji-Hyuk soon realize that the third woman in this equation is going to be Oh Yu-Ra.
She’s the psychopathic ex-fianceé of Yu Ji-Hyuk who frequently starts having sex with Min-Hwan, as she uses him for her plans, which are to get rid of Ji-Won.
Baiting Su-Min
Nevertheless, Yu Ji-Hyuk and Kang Ji-Won keep making Su-Min believe that Park Min-Hwan is now cheating on her with Ji-Won.
It’s because she can’t stand being deprived of the “prize” that she stole from Ji-Won.
Ji-Hyuk and Ji-Won bait her into crashing the hotel room where Park Min-Hwan and Oh Yu-Ra discuss killing her while on the bed together.
The third woman
One has to rewind the clock a little to understand why Min-Hwan ends up discussing killing Su-Min on Yu-Ra’s bed.
It starts when Ji-Won learns from Ji-Hyuk that Yu-Ra is the woman Min-Hwan is already having an affair with.
So she stops trying to seduce Min-Hwan and being the third woman in his marriage.
This sudden change in her behavior causes Min-Hwan to flip and he almost chokes her to death before Ji-Hyuk arrives and saves her while beating him up.
Consequently, Min-Hwan gets fired from the job. The piling debt causes the lenders to come knocking and thrash him because he’s broke and now fired too.
Min-Hwan contemplates suicide for a moment until the insurance documents from U&K arrive, according to which he can claim 500 million in insurance money if his spouse dies of injury.
To set up a perfect place and tools with which he can kill Su-Min, he visits Oh Yu-Ra and tells her about his plan.
That way, Su-Min won’t be able to cause Yu-Ra any problems as well.
While they’re on the bed together, Su-Min arrives and causes a storm. She then starts to threaten Yu-Ra with the evidence of a conspiracy to kill that she has against her.
Park Min-Hwan dies
However, with the help of her enforcer, Yu-Ra manages to knock Su-Min out, wipe her phone clean of the evidence, and send her to the location where Park Min-Hwan can kill her.
Min-Hwan takes her to the place where he intends to make it look like Su-Min dies of carbon monoxide poisoning.
However, Su-Min fights back and actually manages to push Min-Hwan back, similar to how he pushed Ji-Won in his previous life.
Park Min-Hwan’s back of the head hits the glass table and he dies in a few moments.
Whereas Jeong Su-Min was supposed to die, this twist takes Min-Hwan’s life instead of hers.
