Kang In-ju’s death in The Impossible Heir explained

In The Impossible Heir, Tae-oh is framed for In-ju’s murder by one of the people he trusts the most.

Before marrying In-ha, Hye-won ends up cheating on him with Tae-oh. Unbeknownst to her, In-ju’s secretary, Mo Gi-jun, had seen her with Tae-oh.

Gi-jun takes their photographs and gives them to In-ju, who uses these photographs to blackmail Hye-won and Tae-oh.

For the sake of Hye-won’s future, Tae-oh bows down to In-ju and agrees to do whatever he says in exchange for keeping the photographs from In-ha.

In-ju forces Tae-oh to use drugs, and the next morning, Tae-oh wakes up to find In-ju and his mistress dead, with no memories of the night before.

The hacker’s investigation

Tae-oh is arrested for murdering In-ju and his mistress, and he is unable to defend himself, as he barely remembers anything from that night.

Tae-oh has no way to prove his innocence, and his best friend, In-ha, refrains from helping him to protect his family’s reputation.

Mo Gi-jun testifies against Tae-oh in court, and Tae-oh is found guilty. However, Tae-oh does not give up on proving his innocence.

Tae-oh first realizes something is amiss when In-ha visits him in prison and does not question him about killing In-ju.

Tae-oh then recalls that on the night of the murder, there was another person present apart from himself, In-ju, and In-ju’s mistress.

Tae-oh asks his hacker to look into the matter. Upon investigating Gi-jun, the hacker finds out that he is the son of a woman who once worked at the villa where In-ha lived.

Gi-jun not only lived with In-ha for seven years but also went to school with him. He then went on to become In-ju’s secretary.

When the hacker goes to Gi-jun’s house to investigate further, he runs into In-ha there, which proves that the two of them are still in touch.

The hacker’s suspicions are confirmed when he runs into In-ha

Additionally, he hacks into Gi-jun’s spare phone to call In-ha and finds out that Gi-jun has been working with In-ha, who is revealed to be the mastermind behind the whole plot.

Tae-oh also remembers that the person who drove him, In-ju, and his mistress that night was not Gi-jun; someone else was doing Gi-jun’s job.

After looking into the matter, the hacker finds out that the person who drove them was Roy, a man who is loyal to Gi-jun. Roy is later killed by Gi-jun.

As all these revelations unfold, the hacker comes to know about In-ha’s involvement in framing Tae-oh for the murder and informs Tae-oh.

In-ha knew about Hye-won cheating on him with Tae-oh, and he got Gi-jun to murder In-ju and his mistress to frame Tae-oh.

While Tae-oh’s life is completely ruined after being betrayed by his best friend, In-ha takes over Tae-oh’s position in the future strategy division.
