Jordan Li: Gen V character explained

Jordan Li is a supe with the power to shift genders. While their male form has superhuman durability, their female form can fire energy blasts. London Thor plays Jordan’s feminine form and Derek Luh plays Jordan’s masculine form.

Jordan is Professor Brink’s TA and they are responsible for who gets into Brink’s class and who doesn’t. They have a close relationship with Brink because he is the only teacher who looks past Jordan’s gender identity and only sees their potential.

Jordan is also present when they sneak out for a party and Andre almost kills someone before Marie uses her powers to save them. They fight off Luke and give Marie enough time to escape, although their efforts are brushed under the rug.

Jordan has bought into the God U. lifestyle and mostly cares about getting to rank 1 so that they can be taken seriously as a superhero. When Marie gets the credit for fighting Golden Boy, they ask her to tell the truth about what happened.

Only out for themselves

Jordan appears to have a preference for their feminine form, although they switch to their masculine form whenever the situation calls for it or if they are trying to assert themselves in front of other people.

Their parents show up for a fundraiser and Jordan has to stick to their masculine form because their father isn’t accepting of them as a woman. They switch to their feminine form in a moment of rebellious protest and push away their father even more.

They have a complicated dynamic with Marie, as there is friction between them at first, but they eventually fall for each other. Jordan has doubts about whether Marie likes them as a man or doesn’t care which form they’re in.

They notice Marie talking to Rufus and are the first to Rufus’s room when he tries to assault Marie. Marie is the first one to call Jordan’s tendency to switch to a dude whenever he is trying to make a point.

When they are inside Cate’s head, they come across a memory of Jordan which shows that they were more focused on their progress than what might have been going on with Luke.

They do express regret for not saying something or doing something to help and are forgiven for their minor transgressions. They take their drop in rankings quite poorly, although they eventually come to realize that it isn’t as important.
