Hong Man-Dae’s death in Queen of Tears explained

The latest episode of Queen of Tears sees Hong Man-Dae, the patriarch of the Queens family, passed away in a tragic circumstance, but not before leaving helpful clues for his family to get back what rightfully belongs to them.

Hong Man-Dae is finally tracked down to the hospital he is admitted to. When Hong Beom-Ja arrives there with Grace, Moh Seul-Hee beats them to it and gets her hands on Man-Dae.

Man-Dae has been afflicted by vascular dementia, and can’t remember a face, a name, or much of anything.

Moh Seul-Hee’s desperate attempts

Seul-Hee brings him home and continues his medication, but he secretly skips on them, for he retains his memory now and then.

She desperately keeps on pressing him to tell her where his secret fund is. However, he doesn’t break.

Eventually, he learns that his granddaughter has a terminal illness, and when she visits him, he gives her a clue regarding the whereabouts of his secret fund.

He then makes the ultimate decision, ensuring the enemies of his family don’t get any information out of them, and are kicked away before they can get their hands on his secret fund.

Hong Man-Dae passes away

He knows that with his passing, Moh Seul-Hee would lose the power of attorney, which means she would lose control of his house and shares.

This makes her rights null and void, and Man-Dae’s entire fortune will be handed out according to his notarized will.

So he records a message to Hong Hae-In, on the pen he had given her when she became the CEO. He then goes to the top of the stairs in his wheelchair and pushes himself off.

The business mogul who started shoe-shining in the streets dies of a cervical fracture after falling down the stairs.
