The coolest crush

Bruce meets Grace in college. He is instantly enamored by this kind and interested classmate who seems like she really sees him, whereas others often disregard him as a class clown.

The first thing she bonds with him over is the nervousness they both feel before the exams and how they empty their bowels to relieve that pent-up anxiety.

She shows a keen interest in his improv talent and is more than willing and ready to attend his shows. She compliments him frequently and truly bonds with him.

She reveals her true identity to Bruce, who’s taken aback and aghast at this revelation. She then shows him a couple of things to change his mind about her and her objective as part of the Boxers.

The mission

Grace shows Bruce all the kids at the center who have been orphaned due to one or another atrocity at the hands of the Triads that deprived them of their parents and guardians.

She briefs him on the history of the Triads and how they’ve lost their ways, and to resist their oppression, the Boxers were created.

As part of this faceless organization, she intends to wipe out all the Triads. Her family was also a victim of the Triads.

Her parents were illegal migrants who were subjected to a harsh life for forced labor in Chinese restaurants. When her father tried to push back and demand freedom, he was brutally beheaded in front of others, including her mother.

In episode 7, she is killed by June Song, who avenges her dead sister May Song.

However, before Grace Hwang kicks the bucket, she happily exclaims that her objective is achieved as the Triads are defeated.
