Plot summary

Girls5eva are staying in Fort Worth, their first stop on Girls5eva’s Returnity World Tour. They plan to add more cities as they book them.

Their plans are put on hold when the group gets a lot more comfortable in Fort Worth, thinking that this is where they can get their act together and be ready for the big show.

Girls5eva keep extending their stay. The tour is going well, but Wickie starts getting concerned that they will keep getting comfortable and die here.

When Dawn, whose job is to plan the next stops, doesn’t help, Wickie turns to Summer, who, for the second time, convinces Wickie that she is one of the artists held back by her group.

The first time Wickie and Summer had this kind of conversation, Wickie left the group and went solo. This time around, Wickie doesn’t leave them behind. Instead, she uses all the money they have to book them for Radio City Music Hall.

Radio City is huge, and they have booked the show on Thanksgiving. Girls5eva are concerned about whether they can fill the venue or not. They owe Tishman Speyer Properties money. If they don’t fill the show, they will be sued.

In an attempt to make money, Wickie books a total of 20 Girls5eva shows at places owned by State Senator Chuck Dennis, who is a Fetal Citizen Advocate for a pregnant Dawn.

When Dawn learns that they are playing for Chuck Dennis, she is mad. What’s worse is that Chuck wants them to do John Cougar Mellencamp covers only and not their originals.

Wickie claims that they have to play nice with the people in the suits if they want to make money.

Dawn is having a baby girl, and she wonders if she will hate her for not standing up to the likes of Chuck.

Wickie convinces Dawn to bank Chuck Dennis for now to save their tour; they will humiliate him when they are successful.

Meanwhile, Gloria bumps into the pop star, Gray Holland, unaware of who he is. To her surprise, her people show up for the Girls5eva show, allowing Girls5eva to sing their originals.

Amidst all of this, Summer finds herself. She stops relying on others to choose dresses for her and designs her own dress for the show. All of this encourages Girls5eva to not sacrifice their show for someone like Chuck Dennis.

With that, Girls5eva lose their next 20 gigs. They go to Maryland, where Wickie’s parents live. There, the group learns that Wickie has been lying about her upbringing in her music documentary—not exactly lying, but keeping certain details from the world.

Wickie grew up in an upper-class family that has always gotten her out of trouble. After learning that Wickie’s parents could help them with the Radio City gig, Dawn persuades Wickie to ask them for money.

Wickie is heartbroken for taking money from her parents again. To encourage Wickie to pursue her dreams again, Dawn approaches Wickie’s parents, who kick Wickie out of the house and push her to become something of her own.

Girls5eva next stop at a fan’s nostalgic party. A woman named Taffy has called all the celebrities she loves for her party.

At this party, Dawn realizes that they and their songs from the past may have influenced Taffy and more such fans like her in the wrong way. Taffy has married a much older person because of their songs.

Dawn does her best to convince Taffy that it’s not too late for her to pursue her dreams. Taffy takes Dawn’s advice the wrong way and wonders if Dawn is judging her life choices, leading her to tear up her Girls5eva poster.

It’s later that Taffy explains to Dawn that she hasn’t invited Girls5eva because they shaped her life; they are here because they take her back in time when life was easy. Dawn comes to understand Taffy’s point of view and enjoys the party.

Ending explained:

Girls5eva jeopardized

Thanksgiving comes close, and so does Girls5eva’s show at Radio City Music Hall. Girls5eva find a way to attract an audience to their show when they learn that Gloria has accidentally made pop star Gray Holland her friend.

Gray hangs out with Girls5eva because Gloria doesn’t treat him like he is a star; she treats him like he is a normal friend.

When Gray realizes that Girls5eva also wants something out of him, it disappoints him. Gloria understands Gray’s urge to return to the time when he wasn’t famous.

Gloria helps Gray disappear. The news spreads that Gray is dead. In a surprising turn of events, Girls5eva are blamed for the death.

A picture of Gray and a pregnant Dawn is circulating, and Dawn is being blamed for Gray’s previous breakup. Due to the backlash against Girls5eva, their Radio City Hall performance is at risk.

Summer finds a solution

As the date of their show draws closer, Girls5eva attend various shows, defending themselves and finding someone who will draw people to their show.

While doing so, Summer finds a solution to their problem. During the third season, Summer pursued a side gig for a company called Tooth Smartz.

Using their strategy, she comes up with a solution. Summer creates a bot army to buy the show’s most expensive tickets, tricking the other resale bots into thinking this is a top show.

Hence, the tickets started selling more than ever. Summer arranged the money to buy the expensive tickets through a Gray Holland song that they recorded. It has Percy’s chewing sound, which means they can ask for some money for that.

The aftermath

Girls5eva’s show at Radio City Hall is a success. When Dawn gives birth, a party is organized by Girls5eva and their families.

Dawn names her baby Lesley. She is named after Wickie. While the group is hugging and coming to terms that they don’t need to chase fame so hard, Wickie hears her old song on a TV show.

Wickie receives a call from Nance Trace because Wickie is popular now. However, Wickie says she comes in a package deal with Girls5eva.

The group tells her to grab the chance. Wickie answers Nance, but it is not revealed what her answer is.
