Dr. Azel is a doctor at Nebula General and Dr. Klak’s primary love interest in The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. Sam Smith voices the character.
Dr. Azel is a brilliant surgeon working at Nebula General, which is the best hospital in the galaxy thanks to its world-class facilities and the backing of the Uniyum corporation.
They used to date Dr. Klak and are held in high esteem by her, although Dr. Sleech doesn’t have the same opinion of them.
They are a brilliant surgeon but they have gotten used to the easy life provided to them by the UniYum grant.
The first time they meet Klak and Sleech is actually during a time travel incident, although they keep that a secret from Klak until she goes through it herself.
A stickler for the rules
Sleech and Klak are always pointing to Azel that they used to be a more adventurous surgeon who enjoyed taking risks but now they’re a corporate shill living easy.
Azel is always very proper and begins an affair with Klak but when they want to keep things casual, it doesn’t work out.
Azel wants to do more experimental work that will help the galaxy but UniYum wants them to do pointless research that will only benefit the corporation.
When they find out that Klak and Sleech researched the parasite illegally, they tell them to report it to GHU.
They are ordered to capture the worm for UniYum to hide the corporations’ mistakes, but they fail and are ultimately fired.
This forces them to get a job as Klak and Sleech’s superior in their hospital.
