Alastor: Hazbin Hotel character explained

Alastor the Radio Demon is a feared overlord and Charlie’s partner in running the Hazbin Hotel. Amir Talai voices the character.

When Charlie’s pitch for the “Happy Hotel” goes completely haywire on television, Alastor shows up to help her in her endeavor.

He claims that watching her crash and burn on TV brought him much amusement, and he has been looking for something to pass the time as he has been incredibly bored.

He is also the one who suggested a change in the name from “Happy” to “Hazbin” as a fun play on words.

Alastor has a notorious reputation and is greatly feared in Hell. He shows a clear dislike for television and prefers radio as his primary medium of broadcast.

Alastor is simply along for the giggles at the hotel

Once he joins Charlie and Vaggie, he brings in Husk and Nifty as members of the staff in the hotel since their souls belong to him.

Not to be trifled with

Sir Pentious attacks Alastor at the hotel to get noticed by the Vs, but Alastor doesn’t even remember the demon and disposes of him handily.

Vox, the overlord who controls a large population of Hell through the medium of television, has a huge grudge against Alastor.

They faced off many years ago and Alastor emerged as the victor, and Vox wished to get revenge.

The legend of Alastor claims that he appeared in Hell out of nowhere and quickly made a name for himself.

When many other demons dismissed him, Alastor went about taking them out and broadcasting their screams on the radio, giving him the name ‘Radio Demon’.

He slowly built a fearsome reputation but returned to Hell after seven years away. Alastor has a good standing among the other high-ranking demons too.

Vaggie tells Charlie that beyond everything else, they must avoid making a deal with Alastor or it will prove immensely costly.

During a conversation with Husk, the bartender mentions that Alastor himself answers to someone else. The radio demon isn’t thrilled to hear this and strongly urges Husk never to repeat that note.
