Release date announced for Netflix’s Spanish series ‘The Longest Night’

Netflix has announced the release date for its Spanish series titled The Longest Night which is centred around the Monte Baruca prison.

Netflix has set a premiere date of July 8, 2022, for its upcoming action-thriller series The Longest Night which revolves around a group of men who attack the Monte Baruca prison in a bid to capture the notorious serial killer Simón Lago.

Originally titled Baruca in Spanish, the series is created by Victor Sierra and Xosé Morais. The direction is handled by Óscar Pedraza. The lead cast includes the Argentine actor Alberto Ammann and the Spanish actor Luis Callejo.

The official synopsis states: “It is set in the psychiatric prison Monte Baruca on December 24, when a group of armed men surround the complex and cut off all communication with the outside world. Their objective is to capture Simón Lago, a dangerous serial killer, but the prison warden refuses to hand him over.”

Additional cast members include Fran Berenguer, David Solans, José Luis García Pérez, Roman Rymar and Maria Caballero. Luis Callejo will be seen in the role of the serial killer Simón Lago.

The action-thriller series will consist of 6 episodes.
