Directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 2020’s romantic drama film ‘Shikara’ is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The film, starring Aadil Khan, Sadia and Zamir Ashai, follows the love story of two Kashmiri pandits in the backdrop of the exodus of Hindu Kashmiris from Kashmir in late 1989 and early 1990.
Talking about the film, Chopra had earlier said in a statement: “Shikara is a very special film to me. I have wanted to tell the story of Kashmiri Pandits exodus for over a decade. I am glad I could finally bring this untold story of our exile to life with this film.
Through Shikara, we aimed at spreading the message that there would be no hope left if all love is lost. It is a tale of resilience and love, in the direst of circumstances. Something we all need an extra dose of now! I am happy that the viewers can now watch Shikara on Amazon Prime Video.”
