“Rosaline is a fresh and comedic twist on “Romeo & Juliet,” told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, Romeo’s recent love interest. Heartbroken when Romeo meets Juliet and begins to pursue her, Rosaline schemes to foil the famous romance and win back her guy.”
Scott Neustadter has previously written screenplays for the adaptations of Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars, and Daisy Jones & The Six.
After learning about Juliet, Romeo’s recent love interest, Rosaline, vows to sabotage the new lovers’ relationship and win Romeo back before it’s too late.
Rosaline approaches her cousin Juliet and attempts to sow doubt by implying that every woman in town has been with Romeo, and then takes her to a bar to introduce her to other men, who are willing to buy her a drink.
When Juliet tells her cousin she’s going to fake her death, it’s clear that Juliet is willing to go to any length to keep Romeo by her side.
