Rooting for Roona: Netflix’s intense documentary on child suffering from Hydrocephalus

Netflix India has released the trailer for an upcoming documentary titled, “Rooting for Roona”.

The documentary highlights the story of a little girl from Tripura, Roona Begum, suffering from a severe case of Hydrocephalus — a birth defect caused by a buildup of fluid in the brain, leading to massive swelling of the head.

The trailer showcases the struggles the parents of the girl go through to bring her condition into the limelight and get her treated by professionals.

Even though baby Roona passed away at the age of 5 in 2017 after 8 successful surgeries at Gurgaon-based Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), her story is worth a watch as it highlights the never-give-up spirit of the little girl and her family.

The documentary starts streaming from October 16 only on Netflix.
