Release date & new masks revealed for Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area

Netflix has announced the release date for its Korean adaptation of the Spanish Money Heist franchise: ‘Money Heist Korea – Joint Economic Area’. Part 1 of the series will premiere on June 24.

In this version, Yoo Ji-tae plays the Professor, while Squid Game star Park Hae-soo will be playing Berlin.

Kim Yunjin (Seon Woojin), Jun Jong-seo (Tokyo), Lee Won-jong (Moscow), Park Myung-hoon (Cho Youngmin), Kim Sung-o (Cha Moohyuk), Kim Ji-hun (Denver), Jang Yoon-ju (Nairobi), Lee Joobeen (Yun Misun), Lee Hyun-woo (Rio), Kim Ji-hoon (Helsinki) and Lee Kyu-ho (Oslo) play key roles.

It is set in a fiction Joint Economic Area, “in a world where the Korean Peninsula faces reunification”.

An earlier teaser showed the professor contemplating which mask to choose for the heist. It is hinted that his hand moves towards the Dali mask used in the Spanish series.

However, the new clip reveals that he actually chose the mask toward the right of the Dali mask.

It also sees the professor declare that while small heists end up in the robbers getting chased or killed, a heist at a massive scale can change the world, and even make heroes out of the robbers.

He declares that the public will see “The greatest show on Earth, live”, and root for the gang.
