Release date and other details revealed for The Mandalorian 2

Disney’s CEO Bob Iger has announced the release date for the Disney+ original ‘The Mandalorian’ starring Pedro Pascal and everyone’s current favourite – Baby Yoda.

As per Iger, the web series is set to release a new season in October 2020.

The creator and writer of the web series, Jon Favreau (who is also widely famous for directing The Lion King and Jungle Book), took to Twitter last year to make the announcement:

He will also be directing one of the episodes in the upcoming season. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Favreau spoke about being busy with projects like The Lion King and stated: “We’re working on season two, writing, prepping with the directors and getting ready to direct myself, actually”.

It was also revealed that Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision will premiere on the streaming service in August and December respectively this year. Earlier this week, Disney+ also released a teaser of its upcoming Marvel shows at the SuperBowl.

Disney+ currently holds a base of about 28.6 million paid subscribers in the U.S. and three other countries. It will also soon be running in the UK, India and Western Europe.
