Priyanka Chopra Jonas joins the cast of Netflix’s superhero movie

Baywatch star Priyanka Chopra Jonas is all set to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming original We Can Be Heroes.

The movie will be written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, who is best known for sci-fi movies like Spy Kids and Alita: Battle Angel.

Among others, Chopra Jonas will be joined by Narcos and Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal. The cast also includes Christian Slater and Boyd Holbrook.

Netflix has revealed few details about the new kids-superhero movie.

It will revolve around an alien invasion that leads to the kidnapping of Earth’s superhero parents. This results in kids trying to save the planet and bring back their parents.

As per previous reports, the group of kids will be led by a young daughter of a retired superhero. She creates the group after coming to the realisation of having powers.

The movie has a stellar child cast including Akira Akbar, Andrew Diaz, Nathan Blair, Hala Finley and Andy Walken.

The film’s production has reportedly started in Texas, USA.

Chopra Jonas’ last project in Hollywood was Isn’t It Romantic alongside Liam Hemsworth and Rebel Wilson. However, We Can Be Heroes will mark the star’s debut in the digital entertainment space.

The actress has also been busy with her upcoming Bollywood project The Sky is Pink. Besides starring in the film, she is also co-producing it with Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.

The movie also boasts talented stars like Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf. It is all set to release on October 11.

This movie will also count as Rodriguez’s directorial debut in the web entertainment. He has been known to create family-friendly sci-fi movies like Spy Kids series and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D.

A release date has not been announced yet for the movie.
