‘Outer Banks 2’ features action-packed adventure in Bahamas

Netflix recently released the official trailer of young adult action-adventure series ‘Outer Banks 2’ that is slated to stream on July 30 on the platform. The teen mystery drama narrates how Pogues take on their rivals to stake a claim on their fabled treasure and the future that is meant to be theirs.

For the uninitiated, ‘Outer Banks’ follows the coming-of-age adventure story of few close-knit teen locals belonging to the working-class, popularly called the “Pogues”, in the beach vacation destination of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

In the first season that premiered in April 2020, a quest for John B’s (Chase Stokes) missing father leads the Pogues to discover a treasure trail.

When they discover the sunken Royal Merchant treasure, John is wrongly accused of a murder by Sarah’s (Madelyn Cline) father, Wade, played by Charles’s Esten, who steals it and stashes it on an island. The star-crossed lovers take to sea in a boat to escape the law and to outrun the wealthy ‘Kooks’ in their hunt.

‘Outer Banks 2’ will pick up from the cliffhanger in season 1 after John B and Sarah come close to death in a crazy storm, where they are rescued by a boat, heading towards Bahamas, taking them closer to the hidden treasure.

Going by the trailer, others in the Pogue group including, Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and JJ (Rudy Pankow) do not know that John and Sarah are alive and start searching for treasure to claim it in the memory of their presumably dead pals.

Apart from the main star cast, other actors set to reprise their roles in ‘Outer Banks 2’ include Charles Esten, Austin North, Drew Starkey, Deion Smith, Julia Antonelli, and Caroline Arapoglou.

‘Outer Banks 2’ creator and showrunner Jonas Pate has revealed that the team of the show, popularly known as OBX, is hoping to tell the entire story in four-five seasons.
