For this year’s Christmas festivities, Netflix’s ‘Operation Christmas Drop‘ looks promising in its recently launched trailer.
The film will showcase Christmas celebrations as things take a romantic and slightly political turn.
Based on a tradition in the US called Operation Christmas Drop, the film will narrate a romantic story. Congressional aide Erica (Kat Graham) falls in love with Captain Andrew Jantz (Alexander Ludwig).
On a mission to report back to Congress, Erica and Andrew get off on the wrong foot but eventually catch the Christmas love bug when she observes his “big heart and a nice smile”. And thus begins a romantic holiday love story.
The film’s concept would be very familiar for some, as the actual tradition named Operation Christmas Drop has been in function in the US since 1952. The people of Guam and personnel at Andersen AFB fly the annual mission to parachute supplies to islanders throughout a large swath of Micronesia.
Christmas movies are an annual tradition by Netflix. Operation Christmas Drop is just a beginning to the long list of such films awaiting us. Ludwig had earlier taken to his Instagram to share a few moments from the film.
Operation Christmas Drop comes out on Netflix on November 4th, 2020.
