The Netflix original series entails two widows, Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini) who meet at a support group for grief. The trailer clues in on the show being satirical and sarcastically funny.
The story follows Jen on her quest to uncover the murderer involved in the hit-and-run that killed her husband. She befriends a free-spirited Judy, who despite going through a similar loss chooses to cope with it in an optimistic manner.
They become fast friends, bonding over bottles of wine and boxes of cookies, with Judy’s incessant need to protect Jen from a staggering revelation. The two land themselves in rather atrocious circumstances while seeking answers.
Dead to Me is a 10-part series, giving a comedic perspective to a story loaded with themes of grief, loss, mystery and forgiveness.
Liz Feldman, the brains behind 2 Broke Girls and One Big Happy, is the creator of the web series. It is co-produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jessica Elbaum and Feldman.
