The season 2 of Netflix’s Sacred Games will air in August, according to sources.
The first season ended on an intense cliffhanger and viewers have been waiting with bated breath for the show to return ever since.
Netflix had hinted at a big reveal on March 19 but trolled fans with a fake teaser on April Fool’s Day :
Saif Ali Khan (Sartaj Singh)
and Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Ganesh Gaitonde) played the parallel leads in the
first season. It also starred Kubbra Sait (Kukoo), Radhika Apte (Anjali Mathur),
Neeraj Kabi (Parulkar), Jitendra Joshi (Katekar) and Jatin Sharma (Bunty).
Sacred Games first released on 28 June last year, enjoying both widespread popularity among audiences and critical acclaim. It was particularly lauded for strong performances and gritty storyline.
Following its release, the show quickly gained immense viewership not just in India, but all over the world. Many consider it to be the country’s first online series of global standards.
The show is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed 2006 novel by Vikram Chandra which shares its name.
