Netflix partners with THE SEVEN to make live-action content

Netflix has announced a creative partnership with THE SEVEN, a leading production studio owned by one of Japan’s top media companies, TBS Holdings (Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, Inc).

According to the deal, THE SEVEN will produce live-action content for the streamer over the next five years. These titles will be available exclusively to Netflix members across 190 countries.

The Japanese studio features prominent names who have collaborated with Netflix before. Akira Morii, who leads development and production efforts at THE SEVEN, produced both seasons of ‘Alice in Borderland’ and is now working on ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’ and ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’.

According to the streamer, this deal will help THE SEVEN to tell stories from Japan in new ways which are not limited by traditional creative setbacks.
