Reality TV goes to jail in upcoming Netflix show

Sacramento County Jail is the setting for Netflix’s new reality TV show “Jailbirds”. The trailer, which was released on 26 April, 2019, showcases the life of inmates behind bars as they struggle to cope with authorities and their personal relations and lifestyle.

The inmates being interviewed in the trailer are all women making it evident that the show is going to focus more on their lives. There are teases of crimes committed by them like assault, robbery and even murder.

The ugly side of prison is highlighted and rough exchanges between the prisoners are present. They say things like “If you snitch, you’re gonna meet my fist” and “Something’s gonna pop off” which is followed by a brawl in the mess hall.
