Loki reveals new details for his Disney+ show

In conversation with MTV, Tom Hiddleston revealed new details about his upcoming show which is set for a Spring 2021 release on Disney+. The Marvel show titled ‘Loki’ will focus on the version of the trickster god who escaped with the space stone (Tesseract) in Avengers: Endgame.

Now Hiddleston has claimed that the fans will get to see a lot more of the God of Mischief than they did in the movies. He mentioned that the show will be “six hours” long, hinting at six, hour-long episodes.

“Playing him, and playing him truthfully, but presenting him with new challenges which then have to change him in different ways is the most exciting aspect of it. You have his specific gifts, his intelligence, his treachery, his mischief, his magic, and then seeing him come up against more formidable opponents the likes of which he has never seen or known,” added Hiddleston.

The plot details have not been confirmed by Marvel. However, a previously leaked image from an investors’ press conference hinted at a time travel theme for Loki. It has already been confirmed that he will be appearing throughout human history as an unlikely influence on historical events.

The show is a part of MCU’s Phase-4 slate which also has Thor: Love and Thunder set for a November 2021 release. It has also been rumoured that Loki will show up in the fourth Thor film directly after the events of his show and play a critical role in the plot.

The Disney+ streaming service is set for a November 2019 launch in the United States with a global rollout to follow shortly after.
