Marvel has green lit two new live action spin-off series based on Ghost Rider and Helstrom on streaming platform Hulu. These will be in addition to Marvel’s Runaways which has also been renewed for a third season on the platform.
Marvel’s Ghost Rider will center around the character of Robbie Reyes who already made an appearance on season four of ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The character is covered in hellfire and possessed by a demon. His role is to bring evil souls to justice.
Gabriel Luna played the character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and might reprise his role for the new series. However, the official cast has not been announced.
The Helstrom series will focus on a pair of siblings whose father is a mysterious serial killer. The siblings Daimon and Ana track down the evil threatening the world with their distinct attitude and skill.
This is very close to the comic book character Daimon Hellstrom who was also known as simply Hellstrom and the son of Satan.
Both the Ghost Rider and Helstrom siblings live in the same shared universe in the comic books so an internal crossover can be expected along with The Runaways.
These shows are being produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios which is a different division from Marvel studios. Therefore, crossovers with the cinematic universe or the upcoming Disney+ shows is unlikely. Both series are set to premier in 2020.
