‘First Kill’ is based on a short story by V. E. Schwab which was among others published in ‘Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite’, a collection of short stories about vampires, each penned by a different author. Schwab co-wrote and is one of the executive producers for the Netflix series.

It is finally time for Juliette to draw her first blood as a legacy vampire and she picks the new girl in town. Unbeknownst to her, her target, Calliope, is a vampire hunter on the lookout for monsters.
The two find themselves attracted to each other in spite of being raised to detest each other’s kind. Along with disapproval from their families, the unlikely pair face all sorts of obstacles to protect their love.
