Manoj Bajpyee talks about streaming career and Filmfare OTT

Filmfare is all set to host the 2nd annual MyGlamm Filmfare OTT Awards on 9 December 2021. Manoj Bajpayee was joined by Deepak Lamba, CEO, Worldwide Media, Jitesh Pillai, editor, Filmfare magazine, and Darpan Sanghvi, CEO, Good Glamm Group, as they spoke about the upcoming awards and the variety of performances that have been nominated.

Bajpayee credited the streaming landscape for his recent success: “The last couple of years have been the most interesting times of my journey and most of the credit goes to my recent OTT stints.”

Speaking on the first OTT awards, he added: “When the first awards took place, I became quite emotional. When you possibly lose an award to someone else and not feel bad about it, it’s always a good sign.” He has yet again been nominated in the Best Actor (Male) category for his role in ‘The Family Man’.

Speaking on the current landscape of streaming, Deepak Lamba stated: “Platforms will continue to evolve as technology shapes, but the content is what matters.” He added that with India being one of the fastest-growing markets in the OTT space, it is heartening to see not just mainstream English and Hindi content but several regional options as well allowing a wider range of performers to showcase their talent.

‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta story’, ‘Mirzapur’, and ‘The Family Man’ are the public favourites so far with a glut of nominations while actors such as Pratik Gandhi, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shweta Tripathy have all secured nominations for their performances.
