Netflix’s ‘Fear Street’ to bring the shivers with trilogy

Netflix released the official teaser for the upcoming movie trilogy based on R.L Stine’s acclaimed book series, ‘Fear Street’. The set of three movies will be released on the streamer across three weeks in July.

Directed by Leigh Janiak, this trilogy was written by Stine in his book series that captures spooky events that take place across decades from each other but are connected with a curse.

‘Fear Street’ was first published in 1989, which has sold over 80 million copies worldwide. It was a more teen-oriented successor to the blockbuster and enormously influential Goosebumps series, which helped Stine become a household name.

These horror-fiction movies are set to stream across three weeks; ‘Fear Street’ Part One: 1994 – July 2, followed by the sequels, Fear Street Part Two: 1978 on July 9, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 on July 16, accordingly.

Based on the book series, the basic plot of the trilogy starts from the year 1994, and follows a group of teenagers who discover horrifying events that occurred in their town, Shadyside, and these hauntings may all be connected- and they may be the next targets.

Going by the teaser, the dialogues and storyline revolve around the same town, Shadyside, and may have been cursed by a witch for more than 300 years, due to which a group of teens may be the next target to the creepy antagonist. Each of the different timelines has a different sinister being.

The movies are interconnected and cover three different time periods across 300 years. The story revolves around the aforementioned teenagers, who eventually figure out that the horrifying incidents that have stunned their town could all be connected from generations. Since they might be the next targets, they must stop the killings before it’s too late.
