Class of 83, a Netflix film produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, has begun filming.

Details about the cast have not yet been revealed except that Bollywood actor Bobby Deol will be making his digital debut with the film as its lead.

Deol posted an image of the clapperboard on Twitter to express his excitement:

Netflix earlier revealed that the film revolves around an honest policeman-turned trainer and his students.

Directed by Atul Sabharwal, Class of 83 is one of 10 Bollywood movies signed with popular Indian filmmakers and producers which Netflix announced in April.

Other titles include: Ghost Stories, Guilty, Freedom, Mrs. Serial Killer, Yeh Ballet, Kaali Kuhi and Maska.

Another Shah Rukh Khan Production, a Netflix series named Bard of Blood-which is based on a book with the same name by Bilal Siddiqi- is expected to be released with the next three to four months.

The popular actor has high hopes for Netflix in India. He earlier stated: “Netflix has shown that Indian stories have a global audience and we would love to use this platform and its reach to tell more stories.”
