Animated film ‘Nimona’ to stream on Netflix in 2023, first look out

Netflix has announced that the animated film ‘Nimona’ has been scheduled to release in 2023. The platform has partnered with Annapurna Pictures for production.

The animated film is adapted from the New York Times bestselling graphic novel by ND Stevenson, who also shared to first look on Twitter.

The official synopsis reads:

“A Knight is framed for a crime he didn’t commit and the only person who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona, a shape-shifting teen who might also be a monster he’s sworn to kill. Set in a techno-medieval world unlike anything animation has tackled before, this is a story about the labels we assign to people and the shapeshifter who refuses to be defined by anyone.”

The cast includes Chloë Grace Moretz as Nimona, Riz Ahmed as Ballister Boldheart, and Eugene Lee Yang as Ambrosius Goldenloin.

Nick Bruno and Troy Quane are directing the film, while Roy Lee, Karen Ryan, Julie Zackary serve as the producers. It has been animated by DNEG Animation.
