A Week Away: Riveting faith-based musical scored by Netflix

Netflix recently announced its acquisition of the distribution rights for A Week Away, starring Bailee Madison, Kevin Quinn, Sherri Shepard and David Koechner.

Troubled teen Will Hawkins (Quinn) has a run-in with the law that puts him at an important crossroad: go to juvenile detention or attend a Christian summer camp. At first a fish-out-of-water, Will opens his heart, discovers love with a camp regular (Madison), and sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.

Netflix Synopsis

The movie, joining the train of family-friendly movies on Netflix, is directed by Roman White (Emmy award winner). It is produced by Steve Barnett, Alan Powell and Gabe Vasquez with Vicky Patel as the executive producer.

The film, born out of an original idea by Powell, will feature reimagined Contemporary Christian Hits in addition to three originals jotted by Adam Watts (High School Musical 3).

Newcomers Jahbril Cook, Kat Conner Sterling, and Iain Tucker will also feature in the film.

Shot in Nashville, A Week Away is set explore themes of “family, friendship and acceptance” and put smiles on millions of faces during these uncertain and anxious times.
